thinking pink
Feminists talk a fair amount about gender stereotypes and "traditional femininity", enough that non-feminists tend to think of us as anti-femininity. But changing the perspective on "feminine" things and choosing to embrace them can be fun and empowering.
What aspects of stereotypical or archetypal feminine roles do you embrace, either in yourself or in others?
[Also... For a nice resource on this topic in terms of pop culture, check out Lynn Peril's Pink Think; I've just started reading it, and I'd recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in marketing femininity in the 20th century.]

Dorothea, I think your response was still quite positive. Yes, stated in terms of things you were not, to an extent. But no, I don't think being a woman is necessarily at the top of the list of one's self definition. It can be, but it needn't. That's the brilliant side of choice.
And yes, I am very girly in many respects.

I have written a response, and it is here. Sadly, I don't get nearly as much time as I'd like here these days.
