beware... site ugliness coming

I'm making some minor but helpful changes* to the site over the next week. In the meantime, there may be brief periods when the site is ugly or working funkily. Bear with me; the problems should be temporary.

* Adding threaded comments (Livejournal-style) and recoding the site in CSS (also changing the colors, because that made recoding it more fun).

I have a little minor eensy stylistic point... the little purple outlined rectangles that separate each comment (and as far as I know, each comment thread) every time make me think that there is an image trying to load and I sit there kind of waiting for a little red x to appear. I dunno if it's just me or I'm crazy or what. I think it would be cool to have them be filled in boxes... but don't do nothin' on my account. :)
