death to WHB?
This site's been totally inactive since sometime in November, and I have to wonder whether it's still useful to readers/posters to maintain.
That is, given the prevalence of other fora for feminist discussion, it seems less useful than it was when I started it 2-3 years ago (back in the day when you could count the feminist bloggers you knew on your fingers and toes). Should I get rid of it? Or is there some other incarnation in which it might serve a meaningful purpose?
Discuss.

Well, OK, since it's always all about me: Don't know how/why I've never seen the site name 'acronymized' before, but... my name being Wendy Howard-Benham, I am known as -- and sign myriad messages as -- 'WHB.'
Any idea what it does to one to get a message entitled "Death to [YOUR INITIALS HERE]?"?!?!?! SHEESH! Definitely caught my eye, but not good for the heart.
But seriously folks: Although I have been a reader/poster here for less than a year, I have found the topics and comments to be relevant, insightful, moving, occasionally enraging, always engaging, and all the other things that I could want and expect. There ARE a million blogs in the naked city - but IMHO, it would be a shame to lose this one.

I would hate to see this site go. Aside from giving me a form to post the grrrly news so wonderfully, this place is still a good forum for discussing feminist issues. The part we have to pour our energy into now is the posting. Drawing people in, engaging in conversation. I know that the lack of posts is not for want of topics to discuss. We do have brains, and damn if we don't know how to use them.

I just discovered WHB during this hiatus and have been really looking forward to new posts and renewed discussion. I wouldn't be concerned with the growth of "the feminist blog community" or try to all encompassing. There will always be space and an audience for good discussion, especially if it isn't driven by the news of the day, like most blogs are.

despite the other directions i've taken w/ my time online, i'd hate to see WHB go. i can't think of another incarnation for it, april . . . but i do know for a fact that i can always go through the archives and external links for really good, intellingent, worthwhile discussion. i love this site, even though i may not always show it.
and i'd love to jump back into the discussions, too.

Wow. I didn't realize no one was posting. I thought I got kicked off the email list. I alwayss thought we had good discussions here. My only hesitation in posting is the format. I'd post more often if it were easier. It would only take a few of us to get the ball rolling.

The Grrrly news is something I look foward to and appreciate, and full of important things that I feel more people should pay attention to. I'd be sad without it. It introduced me to this whole site!

I have to admit, I miss the WHB that used to be. I also know I'm part of the problem, not the solution. What can I do to change that - and to help keep whb alive?
